Viva 2024!

Dear students and parents,

Happy New Year!
I hope the transition from the holiday glow to the January chill has not been too jarring and that you are all, as we are, looking forward to a beautiful, music-filled year ahead.

This is such an exciting time at the studio and we wanted to alert you to some of the highlights of our January so far:

1. New student registrations! As many of you know, registration at MJMS is ongoing and we have been thrilled to welcome so many new students in the past couple of weeks. If you have a friend or family member who is considering exploring music learning this year, please send them our way!

2. Michael Johnston and the Beatles! This feels like a dream come true. Michael is presenting a workshop on the Beatles album Abbey Road on Friday, January 19th at Roy Thompson Hall, in conjunction with Share the Music and Classic Albums Live

3. Summer Camp Registration is now open! We quietly opened registration for our legendary summer camps at the beginning of the month, but what better time than the coldest afternoon of the year to cast a glance forward to sunny summer days? So many of you have made our camps an annual tradition and we can't wait to see you again this year! This is your reminder to register early as space is limited!

4. OMG you guys: recital season is right around the corner!! We will be sending out a mini-announcement soon to get the ball rolling, but suffice to say that our 17th Annual MJMS Spring Celebration and Recitals will be epic, unforgettable, our best yet, and we can't wait to celebrate (with) you!

5. Finally, a joy-filled and heartfelt THANK YOU to each and every person who is a part of our studio community. Feelings of isolation and overwhelm can be very real at this time of year, and it is our honour and our pleasure to have so many creative, caring, engaged and present people in our midst. They, and we, are a part of YOUR community as well: you are never alone.
